Timeless Design

XYZ Design Product design studio San Francisco Bay Area Local time --:--:--
01 / Time

Time is ticking. Let's make every tick feel good.

Your time --:--:--

Everything keeps getting faster: feeds, shipping, news, the way we work. Weeks blur together, and the years seem to go by quicker than they used to.

A day is still 24 hours.

We spend a lot of those hours with products: the bed we wake up in, the cup we drink from, the chair we work in, the bag we carry out the door. The clock won't slow down. What those hours feel like is a design decision.

Today

We design the experience you have with the product.

02 / Approach

What we design for.

  1. 01

The experience, not just the object.

A product is the hours you spend with it: the first time you open it, the hundredth time you use it, the day it needs fixing. We design all of those, not only how it looks in a photo.

  2. 02

    Timeless.

Things you don't have to replace every season: durable materials, parts that can be repaired, and forms that still look right years later.

  3. 03

    Busy hands, focused mind.

Simple, repetitive work, like grinding coffee by hand or sanding a piece of wood, takes little thought. That's where focus comes easily: you slip into a flow state and, for a while, stop watching the clock. We design for those moments.

03 / The mark

X, Y and Z, stacked. It reads as an hourglass.

XTwo diagonals
YV and stem
ZTop, slash, base

= An hourglassThe bars are the caps, the X is the glass, the dot is the neck and the stem of the Y is the falling sand.

We stacked X, Y and Z to make a monogram, then noticed it reads as an hourglass. For a studio that designs around time, it fit, so we kept it.

04 / Services

Three ways to work with us.

XYZ Design is led by a Red Dot award-winning designer. Every project starts with a conversation and ends with something you can hold.

A · For clients

Product design

Bring a rough idea, a sketch or a half-working prototype. We take it to a product you can manufacture and sell.

  • Research, concepts and sketches
  • 3D CAD, renders and CMF
  • Prototypes and design for manufacturing
Send a brief →
B · Print shop

3D printing: design + print

We do both halves. Send a sketch, a photo or a file; we make it printable, then print it in-house.

  • Concept models and functional prototypes
  • Replacement parts, fixtures, small batches
  • PLA · PETG · TPU and more

Our own products

Things we design because we want them to exist. Some are for sale, some are open for collaboration or licensing.

  • Summit, autonomous follow-me vehicle
  • Zen Chair, solid sapele
  • ReLO, recycling machine concept

D · Quick look

Something broken, or just needs a little help? Send us a photo.

A part that snapped, a holder that never quite fit, a fixture you can't buy anymore, or something small that could work better. Send a photo and a sentence about what it should do. We take a quick look and reply with what we would do and a quote.

06 / Process

How a project runs.

The same four steps whether it's a full product or a single printed part.

  1. Step 01

Share the idea or the problem

Send a few lines, a sketch or a photo. Rough is fine.

  2. Step 02

    Free intro call

We talk it through, ask the awkward questions and agree on scope and price.

  3. Step 03

    Concepts + prototype

Sketches, CAD and AI-assisted studies, then a printed model you can hold.

  4. Step 04

    Refine + deliver

Final files, renders, parts or a finished piece, ready for the next step.
